High Tech背景，想听听各位和在校同学的意见！In@Foster, USC, Georgetown and Olin

之前只有听过，Foster的校友数量并不多，在亚洲presence更少。但UW alumni body是非常庞大的。我猜你说的高层常常碰到校友代表Foster校友在某些特定公司很集中！而且IT公司里一定还有很多UW其他专业的校友。

I think first of all you have an excellent start here, and what you have written about the schools is not only true but also clear. Actually I’d like to help you out by recommending more similar schools, but I would need to know more about your profile first. I see you are aiming at many excellent Tier 2 schools, and given your focus on Tech, I’d say that about at that level, two more schools that really make sense are Austin and Georgia tech for their tech strengths. Your goals make total sense, so good job there choosing something that you are aware of and have experience in. It will only make your application sound more real.

Well, a lot will depend on your work experience – what you have done, where you have worked, how much leadership you have, as well as your undergraduate studies. Your GMAT is normally a bit too low for top 10 programs (a 710+ would be far better), but if your WE is exceptionally strong and you have exceptional grades and exceptional volunteer work, you may be able to overcome this. If not, then you might want to think about retaking the GMAT so you will be more competitive.

Thank a lot Jonfrank for the helpful comments! In case my workload and time do not allow me to apply for more schools, among those four Tier2 Schools, which one do you think should be the best choice for me - A Sales and Marketing Manager in Semiconductor industry who wants to develop deeper in the tech sector in the States or have a related post MBA career like IT consulting? I am really struggling among Foster, Georgetown and USC and the deadline is just approaching, hah hah...Cheers! :-)

您是哪方面的IT，FOSTER这么牛？

当然有，PwC咨询首轮面试，一共24个Interview，中国人占了7个。
目前知道不招中国人的只有Accenture, CSC ...

信息太重要了，感谢。FOSTER要是给钱大方肯定更受欢迎。

如果你肯定做Tech行业，东部如果是Top学校那没问题，否则还是西部学校吧。USC和Foster我觉得还是USC，还是要高一些的，无论从大学整体名气和商学院，而且加州机会也很多。一个过来人的一点建议。

谢谢非常有帮助的意见！我也认为地理位置对于corporate的工作非常重要，因为并不是每一个公司都会on campus recruitment. 西海岸的学校对于找tech公司地理上非常方便。

USC学校确实老牌，很会行销自己的学校！见过几个在读的学生和校友，都是很优秀的！Marshall的就业其实不是非常偏tech,finance更好些！聊了几个华人校友，他们post MBA都在finance和相关领域。
