不太理解这句话啊求大牛指点！

考点：

1.   比较对象要形式对称，性质相同；特别指出文中size和area是可以比的。

2.   land area：土地面积。

3.   连词的运用：仅凭逗号是不可以连接两个句子的。

4.   定语从句的关系连词：that/介词+which。

选项分析：B.     is和has不平行；land area和size重复；many无指代对象。

C.     定语从句wordy，用形容词短语就可以，更加简洁，而且意思没减少；land area的重复使用也累赘；population为抽象名词，them指代不明；but后面不成句子，无法与前面平行； with a population ofonly 4 million限定性修饰Laos错误，显得有很多个Laos。

E.     correct；有说法E中people和population是重复表达，但population和people一个是"数量值"(the number ofpeople),一个人人群，重心不同，并不重复。注意popluation也有all of the people和a city, town的意思，单数名词。

有以下几点不明白：
1、考点说size和area是可以比的，但B选项的分析说land area和size重复？
2、C选项中说them指代不明，为什么不是指代people？还有不明白“with a population of only 4 million限定性修饰Laos错误，显得有很多个Laos。”
3、E看不懂解释……

你选项分析哪里看来的。。。B肯定错的 has和is的问题 C的话 比较正确的用法是Many of them members of ..., many of whom are  members of, 所以C错， 而且many一定要有个of them/whom 表示many是修饰People的

E是对的 population是一个表达整体的单数名词，people是复数名词 这个没啥不对啊 而且后面Many of whom are也是对的

C 明白了~谢谢~不过many of them members of...难道不是and many of them are members of？
那B的size和area重复的解释是有问题的吧？

我个人觉得them指代没有歧义...C的错误是在,but comma+连词表示连词后的从句和前面整个句子的关系，但是这个句子的意思是土地面积和人口的转折，不是整个句子，而是句子内部..

我看不出有什么重复的 不过B有很多致命错误 of about很怪（GMAT从来没这样考过） has和is的问题 many不知道指代谁

我记得OG有题是说过many of them和Many of whom的问题 但是我不记得哪题了 不过的确是这个样式 你可以看看外媒的报道 也都是这样 many of them members, many of whom are members

嗯B确实上来就排除了，不过看不懂解释而已…嘻
