我选了E，看了分析大家排除的原因是主语fossils was dated错了，可是我理解which引导限定性定语从句，该从句主语是sloth，所以没有错

排除D的理由是 have been没必要

求大神解答这两个问题，谢谢！！

你说的就近原则是当which跟在逗号后面的时候，修饰逗号前的名词。但是这句话which在逗号前面，所以不存在就近，你这样推断主语是sloth肯定是不对的。

也就是which引导的限制性定语从句不存在就近原则吗？

我觉得按照楼主这么理解，就是一只34million years old solth 的化石，solth怎么能说有34 million years old呢，我觉得句意上不能这么理解。
而且，如果which 指代的是sloth，那found in Puerto Rico in 1991修饰的也是sloth了，一般都是说化石在哪里哪里发现吧，而不是说sloth在哪里哪里被发现的吧

还有which 的就近指代也不一定是指which一定要指代最近的那个词，相反，是允许跳过简单的介词短语，修饰核心词的，在这里就是跳过of the arm of a sloth,指代Fossils。
再来，E的句子成分不对，即使你的分析是对的，years old 后面的逗号是多余的，前半句没有渭滨，后半句没有主语
