When asked whether children have been influenced by their teachers, many parents hold a active view about that.In the popular mind,at any rate, teachers should set a good example for their children in that they are too young to know the world and their personalities, for the most part, are influenced by their teachers. Is this really the case? As far as I am concerned,I deem that rather than their tutors, their peer friends do more contributions in forstering children's view of life and view of value.

Compared with teachers, their contemporaries have much stronger tendency to affect children's values. One of my aunts always moaning that her child does not want to chat with her and that they lack of spiritual communicaiton.Let alone the communication between teachers and students. I believe she is hardly alone in the experience.Admittedly, nowadays, the gap between child and adults are intensified .Namely,a majority of children prefer to chat with their friends and turn to their friends for help instead of their parents or teachers.Consequently, the less communicate with adults, the more interaction with their peers.Several impacts are obvious by their friends, both negatively and postively.

Positively, they will have strong awareness of competition, which I think will encourage them to do their utmost to develop themselves  .Take me for example.Once I was a mischievous student, who was not willing to attend to school, let alone making a good performance in my academic study. However,Jane, one of my intimate friends, became my classmate and everyday we went to school together. But she never played with me unless she had finished her homework.Obviously, her study is much better than me.I was ashamed about that and made up my mind that playing after study. Therefore, after several months hard working,I kept up with her and became one of the excellent students in the class.

However,I must admit that contemporaries also have some negetive influence on children as well.Because they are all in the period of adolescence, which means rebellion is rooted in their blood, they are not able to control themselves well physically or mentally. In other words, they prone to take up some bad habits even though they have noticed those were harmfull.Such as smoking ,playing vedio games, and even using drugs. It is apparent that all those bad habits are learned from their friends. The theory of peer pressure provides us with convincing explaination why learning a cool habit or style from their friends who they admired is what they desire. Not surprisingly, most of teenagers get into some bad habit learned from their friends.

From what I mentioned above,I reckon that ,instead of teachers, their peer friends play an important role to children's personalities and daily habits.
