题目 :同不同意In 20 years from now on, students will not useprinted books any more.
Noinvention has received more praise and abuse than electronic books. People ingrowing numbers believe that printed books are more costly and heavier thanelectronic books. Nevertheless, they seem to fail to take into account thedisadvantages electronic books exert. As for me, I convinced that in spite ofthe development of modern science and technology, nothing can substitute printedbooks for a long period .The reasons are as follows.
Firstof place, there is no denying the fact that unlike e-books which students haveto read them before radiant monitor, printed books do no harm to our eyes. Wecannot emphasize the fundamentality of protecting our eyes too much, especiallyfor young persons. In fact, according to a recent survey conducted by MedicalCollege of Oxford University, 66% adolescents in the world suffer from eyesdiseases because of long-time use of computer. A large number of experts pointsout that parents should restrain the time youngsters spend on Internet likeplaying computer games, reading electronic books or journals and chatting withfriends, otherwise, children would have short sight or long sight. Moreover, thismay lead to next generation’s inheriting genes from contemporary people.
Anothermore subtle point is that printed books are so handy that we are able to findour favorite books or the most impressive section of a book at any time and getinto rapture with them. However, as for e-books, many teenagers always complainthat too tough it is to search forcertain books in a digital library. For example, if one wants to obtain anessay called "Sunflower”, by clicking the mouse, then thousands ofarticles with the same name show up on the screen and one will be frustratedwithout attaining the certain essay while his or her friend is enjoying aprinted magazine with a cup of coffee, sitting at a bookstore near window whenthe sun is shining and the breeze is blowing.
Butevery coin has two sides, there is no doubt that electronic books benefit us alot for that producing these does not need wood, as a result no pollution inenvironment, that reading them on the Internet saving huge amount of money andthat e-books update more rapidly than printed books. Yet their defects faroutweigh the merits.
Fromwhat has been discussed above, I have every confidence to say that those whodesire to keep good eyesight and who enjoy the fun printed books has taken willstill utilize printed books perpetually.
