主语是从句 谓语单复数的问题

小白看到曼哈顿里说 Subject Pharases and Clauses:Always singular      后来看好几分曼哈顿的笔记 里头都提及
以who, why, how, whether或that引导主语从句，谓语动词用单数  (不是always 而是must的意思了）              prep笔记里也有这样说         
后来自己想到一个句子         Who are singing are/is two girl.   这里应该是用is ?are?

who 不能跟what类比          what 被特地分开来详细分类解释了：
(1)What在从句中做主语，主句谓语由what从句谓语决定。
(2)what在从句中做宾语，主句谓语由主句表语/宾语决定what they want are XX,XX&XX。

例： What his father left him are a few English books.

你看第二种情况就是V O agreement        其实说到本质还是都要整个句子各部分都兼顾agreement嘛~ 这是我个人的理解~

谢谢这个知识点的补充啊,还真不知道这个呢

个人理解应该用ARE，因为句子里面已经明确告诉你是TWO GIRLS了，也就明确的WHO是修饰复数名词的，那谓语就应该用复数；就好比these two girls who are singing are my friend. 真正的主语是GIRLS

我也是这么想的  但是好多manhattan笔记上都没说who有分情况跟what一样   
有NN说这个句子就是错的  这么平凡的一个句子怎么会错呢？
就算错 那只是想拿这么个句子代表这样一类句子——who代表了复数的人          难道这种句子会不存在？！

我是這麼想的
如果我說
who are singing on the stage right now is not going to change my mind that the first group will win this contest.
忽略其他語法,這裡我覺得is 比are好,因為講的是"who are singing on the stage right now"這個事,就一件事.

你的那句"who are singing"如果像另外一位那麼講好比"these two girls who are singing are my friend=who are singing are my friends"
那麼who...是作為一個Modifier了,修飾"the two girls"而不在subject phrases and clauses 的考慮範圍內,你那句按這種理解就變成"the two girls who are singing are two girls",先別管句意...(我讀著也奇怪...)補足后the two girls 動詞用are

如果講的是"who are singing"這件事幹嘛幹嘛,動詞就用單數

當然這都是我的想法,我也不知道對不對.....
看看論壇上面還有沒有其他人知道的..

what 的那個語法點你在哪裡看到?,我在manhattan的書沒找到...
