请教大家一道题

这道题答案是选c 我知道 因为要平行  但是我觉得不应该平行，因为要洗衣服就先把脏衣服放进一个袋子里，把这个袋子放在海里，然后让船拽着袋子跑。  我觉得如果正确句子是tossing it overboard，非要要placing 和tossing 平行的话，意思就变成了是在说tossing their clothes overboard. 想看看你们怎么看？ 大家怎么想？？

For centuries, people on sea voyages washed their clothes by placing the dirty laundry in a strong cloth bag

washed their clothes by tossing it overboard,

and washed their clothes by letting the ship drag the bag for hours

并且，这三个动作只是一个连续的步骤，manhattan中有说，当你不需要强调动作先后或者动作先后已经很明显的时候，and连接的句子不用改时态。

and其实可以连接动作表示先后；
如    He read for an hour and went to bed   。 他读了会书，然后上床睡觉。
这时侯我们体会到的是一种很平淡，很客观的一件事，

但是如果换成完成时，他在读了……后，上床睡觉了。这时侯我们就总觉得有一个背景；他读累了，所以上床睡觉？  有人要求他读一小时才能累？各种猜测……
