答案是C;其实我不能理解的是，为什么主语是cloud不能是storm，模拟云的脚步/模拟暴风雨的脚步不是都可以吗？

我想谁的路线被模拟了并不是这题的突破口，或者如果不是相关专业也很难突破，感觉还是要看原文的逻辑含义，即是谁brighten the NL和knock out a cs。

按照NN 们的解释  ，ving, 这个V的逻辑主语应该是前一句的主语， 可是这道题的逻辑主语是cloud 这样理解cloud brighten 好像理解不通。

这个brightening&knocking 就是主句“cloud triggered a storm"的immediate consequence 啊

我总觉得应该是storm brightening,而不应该是cloud brightening....

按OG的解释来说，The timing and logical relationships among the events described in this sentence are of utmost importance. The scientists monitored a cloud ejected from the Sun. The cloud triggered a large storm, whose consequences were the brightening of the Northern Lights and the possible knocking out of a satellite. The latter two events are in a conjunction, so they should be represented by similar verb forms. 换句话说，brightening ... and knocking ... 是the cloud triggered a large storm的伴随结果，无逻辑主语。在-ing做状语时，逻辑主语的判断：

(1)表伴随动作、状态、功能，与句子谓语动作同时发生，逻辑主语等于句子主语

(2)表伴随结果，整个句子是原因，导致分词动作产生，无逻辑主语。（除非该名词就是主语）

那这题中which的用法是不是错误的？which可以修饰整个句子么？

我也感觉A选项的which离storm太远，而且感觉B选项的it指代主语cloud，也不合适。
