Thanks for following up! Of course I’m glad to offer further advice. In terms of international student-friendly cities with the most opportunities, I would definitely say New York, Chicago, and cities in California(like San Francisco and Los Angeles) are great. The reasons are simple: there are more people, more companies, and more jobs in these areas. But the big question is: does this mean you personally have a better chance of getting a job? Not necessarily, since there are also more people who move to these cities after graduating from schools throughout the country. Therefore, competition is high. Because you want to study accounting, which is essential nationwidefor many industries, you will have similar chances in your job search anywhere in the States. That’s why you should think of which city you really want to go to first, and then base the rest of your decision on that. You can do accounting anywhere, so figure out where you’ll be happiest! Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your kind answer.
I think I understand what you want to tell me. Nevertheless, I have two more questions.
First, what do you say about the major of finance. You see, some friends in this forum suggest me choose to study finance due to my advantage of math. In my perspective, the working circumstance in the future is the most important. So I am wondering how the career future of finance is. Which one do you suggest, accounting or finance?
Secondly, I really dont know which city is my favorite because I havent visited USA before and the information of these cities in this country is very limited. So I can only listen to others' recommands and choose cities.
Best regards.

Hi my friend, and thanks for following up! If you don’t have a preference for location, then I’d suggest considering New York, Chicago, or another major city. Some people might suggest you look into smaller cities where maybe there’s less competition. However, this argument (especially for an accounting major!) is not valid. Studying in a graduate program is a big investment of both time and money. Ideally, you want to get as much as you can out of it, not only a job but also some great experiences and solid connections. It’s a time in your life to broaden your horizons and meetmany people, both of which will affect your career in the long run. In this sense, big cities like New York and Chicago definitely have more opportunities. You will have to be proactive to take advantage of these benefits, but the chances of finding such prospects are greatest in major cities. I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any further questions!

Message received! And I feel very touched for your patience.
Then what about these cities: Houston in TX, Boulder in CO, Pittsburgh in PA, Philadelphia in PA, College Park in MD, and Madison in WI? Because as you know, there are limited numbers of universities suiting me in New York, Chicago and Boston; I would like to apply more than ten universities considering my poor score of TOEFL and GMAT.
Thank you again. Best regards.

Boulder,Madison这种城市机会少啊,根本不算大城市啊
选选NYC,Chicago,LA,Houston这样的城市吧

Pittsburgh我没去过,是个中型的工业城市吧
费城还是很大的,文化气氛也很浓。downtown蛮好的,唯一的缺点就是黑人有点多,你懂得。。。
College Park就是个大学城啦,但是离周围的大城市还是挺近的

Hi there, and thanks for following up! It is my pleasure to provide further guidance here. My recommendation isthat you should consider Houston and Philadelphia. The other cities are fairly minor ones that won’t make a difference in your future job hunt. Let me know if you have any further questions!
