People should undertake risky action only after they have carefully considered its consequences. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position. Taking the consequences into consideration carefully before undertaking any risky action is reasonable, which helps avoid unpleasant results and bring about good ends. But too much delibetation would render the recommendation counterproductive. Admittedly, careful evaluation of the consequences before taking any risky action is necessary and indispensable. Nowadays challenging outdoor activities are getting more and more popular and many college students risk themselves to cross desert. While many of them travel safely back from the desert, I heard of news on TV that some of the students crossing desert never come back as a result of sunstroke or overdrawing their energy. Though everybody feels really sorry for the loss of their life, we should learn some lessons from it that before participating in any extreme and risky actions like desert crossing, a full scale evalution of all its consequences is imperative, which, in this case, means careful analysis of whether one’s physical condition can endure through a long desert trip. Otherwise severe results can be caused. The same logic goes with the respect to country. Take Cube Missile Crisis for an instance. Assume that in the Cube Missile Crisis, if Soviet Union didn’t take all the consequences of deploying missiles in Cube into acount and didn’t withdraw its missiles from Cube at last, a nulear war between the United States and Soviet Union could happen, which is disastrous to humankind. Therefore thinking about the possible consequences twice before adopting any risky action is especially important for countries, without which could lead to severe outcomes. While it holds true that careful consideration of the consequences before undertaking risky actions is expected, too much thinking would impede actions. Suppose that Bill Gates, one of the richest man in the world, were worried about all the consequences if he dropped out Harvard such as the chance studying in the world No.1 university, family’s disset or too much risk to achieve something after quitting, he would probably keep staying in Harvard and there won’t be Windows and Microsoft anymore. In this case, I am not denying the necessity of careful consideration of the consequences before taking any risky action but after learning about all the consequences, one should not be intimidated from actiong. Bigger interests from bigger risk. Careful consideration provides us objective evalution of the risk but not a reason to prohibit us from taking moves. After all, no matter how careful we consider the consequences before any risky action, uncertainty exists, which we’ll never find out except making moves. Therefore, the consideration of the consequences before undertaking any risky actions is like a package, a package where we put all the preparation in before our journey, which encourages us to set out to have a prepared and safer trip. To sum up, it is necessary and indispensible for us to consider all the consequences carefully before taking any risky action otherwise it is possible to cause severe damage to individuals and nations. But at the same time be aware of that all the considerations are serving us as more preparation and more confidence to make moves but not prohibition from action.
