关于比较结构省略的一些问题！

句子(1)里的do要不要省略？cost这里应该是不及物动词，我觉得应该要省略，但是答案却没有省略
句子(2)里如果不省略的话，应该填入哪种才是正确的？
句子(3)personal spending怎么可以和1.4 growth rate比较呢？但这又是答案~

(1) cost可以是及物啊。主句里面的 dirt roads cost twice xxx， 这里就是及物的情况。

(2) a greater proportion in the presidentail campaign of 1992 than proportion（that） in any previous election

(3) 是personal spending would （more than） double the 1.4 percent growth rate

这里主要是double the 1.4 percent growth rate的用法，指 比1.4%的两倍还多。

我简单的说下看法，
1.最好不要省略，这样读者就会正确的理解为Dirt roads cost和paved roads cost作比较。

2.个人认为括号里的都不是很正确，如果真的要补全的话，应该为proportion of television costs accounted for the spending

3.这里double是个动词，所以the 1.4 percent growth rate在这里是没什么不妥的，读上去也很通顺。
