提醒大家一个compound subject 和verb 的问题，顺便帮我讲解一个小构造~

Neither the pillows nor the blanket looks good in this room.

OG解释说：The phrase owning... land is the subject of the first clause; in the correct sentence, the pronoun it refers back to this phrase and is the subject of the second clause.
一个短语整体做主语的时候，我们把它看成单数。 <顺搭问一句，这个短语的构造是什么？ -ving+-ving+介宾+介宾。。。。>读着很顺，自己也会习惯这么造句子，原谅我的语法。。。

所以这道题不是复合主语的问题是不是~？

刚刚查了一下 manhattan。 短语和从句做主语谓语用单数~  不过还是想请教下那个短语的结构~

是有这样的结构，不过都是高中讲的早忘了。
举个中文例子对照一下，潇洒帅气的男人VS 潇洒的男人和帅气的男人。
有点感觉了没，所以前者肯定是单数
