14题还是A好啊,IF 后面的东西是还没发生的事情,所以要用虚拟语气,而C里面的THEM指代INVESTORS又太远了,不合适,所以A似乎好一些.还请NN指教

39题是不是因为要顾及没画线部分中的and converting...，所以要在than后面把acquiring再重复一次来照顾平行啊？？

感觉ETS真的很看重平行对称啊

14. A is best.  if the deal were是虚拟，必须用were,而不是was.

B. was错

C. by them中的them有点指代不清，如2楼所述是investors，还是one of the potential investors 和First Interstate Bank

另外最主要的：if the deal were从意思上看只是修饰penalties，而不是be signed, 所以这里用虚拟be signed似乎有问题。

D.was错，are错。

E.are错。

39. A. than are fungi位置不好，这样显得more efficient 强调修是at acquiring ，而弱化了对converting it 的作用。且把at acquiring carbon，in the form of carbon dioxide分开意思表达不流畅。

B. 有着和A同样的问题，另外如果than fungi是这个位置，这时应该是than are fungi，否则有可能歧义，acquiring carbon 比 acquiring  fungi

D没谓语

E缺平行，and 前一定要有converting平行对应成分。
