主句v－－understand的时态是一般现在时，所以had thought在句中并没有过去的动作做参照。

当然，C更大的错误在于and，谁跟谁并列呢？其实这里recorded by。。。。做定语修饰narratives

就算A不是少抄了that，也是5个选项中最好的。

A中不需要that啊,结构是Scholars...now understand ... to consist of ...后边的不是从句啊,难道是我眼拙没看出来?看了三遍了!

确实需要that啊，thought是who引导的定语从句的谓语Scholars who once thought (that) Native American Meratures were solely oral narratives...选个最好的，只能这样想了

挖个坟。。。A里面的that究竟能不能省？另外，有人总结过那些动词后面用宾语从句的时候that可以省略？我知道say可以，好像announce也可以。
