请问逗号后Ving是否必须和主句主语make sense

最近研究了一点逗号后Ving的情况，看到这样一句话：
if comma + -ing follows a clause, it should describe the action (and, at least indirectly, the subject) of that clause.

我的疑惑是，是否允许comma + -ing仅仅是describe the action of that clause，但是和subject不make sense的？

这样的话这个句子的逻辑意思就不对...GMAT不会允许句子的逻辑意思有误吧..

1)when you use a COMMA -ING modifier after a clause**, you should actuallysatisfy TWO requirements:
-- the modifier should modifythe action of the preceding clause,as you have stated;
AND
-- the subject of the preceding clause should also makesense as the agentof the -ING action.
