我认为because crossbreeding is said不是插入语。因为，如果是插入语的话，那么可以省略，按照你所说的平行结构，可以理解为to acquire and to provide.但是逻辑上，to acquire的主语应该是cattle breeders,他们通过让牛杂交，获得这些牛的特性（人工选择）；平行结构说明to provide的主语也是cattle breeders，但是实际上应该是crossbreeding提供了这些hybrid vigor。所以，because...并不是插入语。你可以理解为“一部分是因为养牛人想要获得牛的某些特性，一部分是因为杂交提供了杂种优势”。所以，并不是因为to do的平行结构才选的E。D选项的被动使用错误
