我通过网站约了上面的这个时间, 它指的是否是学校当地的时间?

如果是, 这个时间是否为北京时间的12 月15 日晚上 11点?

还有,给了我一个confirmation code

Should be the local time. So, you are right, it is Dec 15 11pm Beijing Time.

如果你是在penn state网站上申请的，那么时间是美国当地时间，也就是东部时间，所以，就是12、15晚上11点。confirmation code就是确认你的面试，如果你想以后回网站查询或者申请改时间用的。祝好运！有问题可以发消息给我。

Do some research for Smeal and Penn State, especially those things they are proud of, such as football, etc.  Well prepared for "Why Smeal".  As for the date, i'm not sure about this year's time.  I remember 2/1 is the DL for second round.  And if apply for the 2nd round, usually the result will be known by early March.  Are you applying for 1st or 2nd round?

I applied for 2nd round, but embark website told me if I finish the interview before 12/17/2004, I will get the final decision before 02/01/2005.

I think, at least,  I must send all materials to the admission office after the interview.

By the way, could you tell me the total annual spending about Smeal School in detail?

Well, i'm not sure about what Embark means.  As far as I know, the second round result won't be known until after the deadline.  But I may be wrong as I don't know what this year's policy is. I suggest you go through Smeal's website and check it.  Last year, I had my interview in late Jan and got admission in early March.  

As for annual spending, you can also check Smeal's website, there is a brief estimation.  The tuition will be around 23~24K this year.  Living expense varies, but if you share apartment with someone else, the monthly expense will be around 600~700.  Books will be around 1000 a year.  Insurance about 1000.  Laptop around 1600 for IBM T42. And some other expenses.

"embark" means the online application website.

I finished the online application in Nov 23,2004.

The online application website sent me an interview email in Dec 8,2004

then Ms. Mindy little gave me the link  where to set an interview in Penn State's website.

No matter what these things mean, I think the most important thing for me is to prepare the interview.
