答案是C，但是OG没有说if有没有错。我想问一下if和whether在这里都可以用么，还有就是if和whether有什么区别呢

1）表达疑问的时候，只能使用whether，不能用if；
2）YY下；这句子换上D或者E的话，结构为the question is if...，感觉太奇怪了，才疏学浅，没见过这种结构。

For the GMAT, here are a few more rules to keep in mind for “if” and “whether”:

1. If you need to imply a choice, the GMAT prefers “whether” (even though the use of “if” may seem grammatically correct).

Lindsay can’t decide if she should buy the dress.
Lindsay can’t decide whether she should buy the dress.
Here the GMAT would prefer the second sentence, since two choices are implied: that Lindsay should buy or should not buy the dress.

2. Use “whether” after prepositions (of whether, for whether, about whether, etc.)

3. Use “whether” before verbs in the infinitive form.

Do you know whether to go out this late is a good idea?

根据曼哈顿中的语法讲解加个人理解，我认为比较容易判断的方法是：

如果用if，需要有 if..., (then)... 的逻辑关系，即 if 从句中的为 precondition，then 从句中的是 consequence，then往往都被省略

其余情况用whether

Using ---- Whether and If

1). After Prepositions , we use only whether.

I haven't settled the question of whether I'll go back home.There was a big argument about whether we should move to a new house.

2). Whether, but not if, is used before infinitives.

They can't decide whether to get married now or wait.

3). When a question-word clause is a subject or complement, whether is preferred.

Whether we can stay with my mother is another matter. - (Subject)The question is whether the man can be trusted. - (Complement)The question is if the man can be trusted. - Correct but less preferred.

4). If an indirect question is fronted , whether is used.

Whether I'll have time I'm not sure at the moment.

5). Whether is generally preferred in a two - part question with or.

The Directors have not decided whether they will recommend a dividend or reinvest the profits

.6). After verbs that are more common in a formal style, whether is preferred.

We discussed whether we should close the shop.

7). Whether and if both can introduce indirect questions.

I'm not sure whether / if I'll have time.

8). Yes / No questions are reported with if or whether.
