Do you agree ordisagree: college and universities must do a better job of preparing studentfor the workplace.

Currently,whether college and universities must pay more attention to prepare studentsfor their future job becomes a popular topic. People differ in their attitudestowards this question. Agreed with it, some of them believe that the key pointof going to college and university is being able to get a good job aftergraduation. Therefore, the educational institution must take the responsibilityto prepare the students for jobs. Others, however, hold a different view thatcollege and universities should spend the majority, if not all, of theirresources to teach students the knowledge in the classes. For my part, Icertainly agree with the former idea for the following reasons.

Inthe first place, higher education helps people secure better jobs. It isundisputable that many students attend college and universities to pursue bettercareers and lives. It is also a common sense that a bachelor or master degreecan bring a person much more opportunities to success. Therefore, the collegeand universities should not only teach students the knowledge they need, butonly provide various services that help students to get decent jobs aftergraduation. Fortunately, most of the college and universities already realizedthis problem and start providing such student services such as career fair,internship opportunities, resume workshop and so forth. This fact approves myopinion.

Besides,let us take a look from an economical perspective. Very investment has itreturns. The money spent on education must have its payback, which is theincome from the future job. In most countries around the world, the tuitionsfor universities are a considerable amount of money that not every family couldafford. Many people have to take student loans in order to finish theirstudies. There is nothing more important than collecting back their investmentafter graduation. Hence, it is reasonable to attribute part of theresponsibility to the college and universities who take the money as tuitionsfrom the students.

Admittedlythat it is critical for college and universities is to teach the knowledge andskills to students. It is also crucial to take into account of their well beingsafter they graduate. Therefore, college and universities must do a better job toprepare student for the workplace.
