第一题，主要是从意思和逻辑上考虑。是authorities 先发现了new evidence再advise owners干什么。
如果现场区别不出这一点，也可以考虑从主动优先的原则去选。（不过，这个原则我并不太欣赏，主要还是应该从句意上分析。）

support from/of　我觉得并没有多大区别，不过严格来讲，当然是正确选项里的比较好了。
本题主要还是要从among Britain's first national museums / among the first of Britain's national museums上考虑，这两个短语的意思是有差别的。
1）among Britain's first national museums：first修饰对象不明，是修饰作副词修饰natioina呢，还是作形容词与national一起修饰museums呢？不太明确。另外，first之前也应该加定冠词the.
2）among the first（museums） of Britain's national museums：“在英国第一批national museums中”

如果句子里没有authorities是讲的通的，但如果是owner作句子的主语，你再体会一下，前面的那个分词短语与后面的advise两个动作之间逻辑关系是不是很别扭呢？
如果promoted的逻辑主语是owner，那这个promoted与advise有什么关系呢？为什么要放在一个句子里呢？

修饰语部分是语法考查中的难点和重点。我在刚做kaplan练习的时候主要就错在这个部分。修饰语的原则比较灵活，我没有什么好办法，还是要从意思上去判断哪个结构是修饰哪个对象的。ETS出题就经常是将应该修饰A的成分拿去修饰B，再绕进去好多插入成分，容易将人的头搞晕。
1）从修饰语的位置出发考虑；
2）从有无歧义，修饰对象不明出发考虑
3）从修饰语与修饰对象意思逻辑是否搭配考虑
4）从简洁性角度考虑
5）一些固定的语法规则
这些角度再加上对句意的理解，可以判断出大多数修饰语考点。

我倒是总结了一些，但现在没有电子版，我很快就要考试了，等我考完，我会花时间将其整理出来并上载，虽然粗陋不堪，但聊胜于无，希望到时能对你有所帮助和启发。

Actually, i never discerned the difference between these two prep. phrases, thus illuminating that i don't expel at modification. I need to improve comprehension in this field.

May i ask which date you will take the test? I believe that you will deinitely achieve great score in GMAT.
