定从有时态上的变化不能变成ing，有疑问

说 定从有时态上的变化不能变成Ing形式，那么比如说bla bla bla, sloth that was found at sw...虽然啰嗦，但是，是不是不能写成 soth found at sw，因为这里是was而不是is，省略的情况是不是都是be动词是现在时的情况？？

凑个热闹，嘿嘿，当时是这么理解的，如果后半部分的定语修饰有明显的语义或者时间标识，且改变了前句的时态，则只能使用定语从句，而如果没有明确的变化，则用ving和定从都可以。就说你举的两道题 The first trenches that were cut into a 500-acre site at Tell Hamoukar,——这句话是因为直接修饰主语，所以不用考虑时态；most of the
Monument Valley Anasazi abandoned their homes to join other clans whose access to water was Less limited.——这句话因为要考虑时态是simple past，从句使用having done不合理罢了，即改成whose access to water has less limitation（语义不合理，且无缘无故改变原文时态）——我个人看法是，修饰主语部分，就不用考虑了，直接用ved，ving，但是修饰宾语位置，应考虑主句的时态，但是还是要看是否有明确是时间变化。——不过用tense做题还是比较危险的
