As I know, Alabama focuses on auditing. SC seems to do experimental. Maybe temple is better. Banker is really a productive researcher. But you certainly should have plan B, to be honest. I know a Chinese guy who applies ACCT phd this year. He has several years working experience in the USA and both MBA-accounting and MS-Econ degree. He doesn't try any Top 20 program and gets no news from some lower tire schools.
