I think non-top undergrad school is definitely a disadvantage in application but it is not all the story about.


HBS Students in the Class of 2014 hail from 268 institutions. I don't know most of them.

try grab a school name on the list that is outside top 4. probly very similar situation for other top schools. not to discount ur achievements, but think about how many top 4 and lesser ranked undergrads apply with similarly strong backgrounds...

看了LZ的背景确实挺强的，但是读不读MBA真的差很多，以我入学半年的经验来说~何况LZ本科还是挺弱的。
但是建议要去就去最好的，不然不值了~

其实如果继续做risk management, equity research, secondary market buyside的话，靠的是实力，MBA带给你的更多的leadership、communication和network。适合做management consulting, IB, Corporate Management, PE, or other leadership orgnizations such as non-for profit. 个人觉得对fund management, risk management, equity research, sales and trading等方面帮助不大。简单说就是金融业二级市场的似乎不太需要MBA。当然，聊胜于无

我跟楼主也好像。。。BB的quant risk。但是我在德国学习和工作的。之前在伦敦做过trader， 后来犯傻进了risk还在德国这种养老国家工作。。
目前考虑米国的mba呢。欧洲金融死掉了。船虽然没翻，但是已经进水到不能动了。
我也是想回到FO去，也是女朋友不会支持。烦啊。

也不好说，现在感觉如果没有进去trainee或者training program的Msc挺尴尬的。 去做quant和risk好多都要物理博士，去做sales比较难拼过本国人+美女。而很多AM比如pimco都喜欢mba。反正就有点尴尬。

是啊，应该比Chicago差的就不会申了，谢谢鼓励
