我CUHK是会计，因为我是会计本，我对金融兴趣不够大，而且我觉得我学金融不能stand out，我HKU主要是想试一下经济。。。。。你是觉得CUHK不值得读么？

I really do not know why people need to study accounting from bachelor all through master. I think accounting is quite simple. It only take one year to understand most of the stuff there. If I were you, I would certainly try finance major, just to give you more diversified choices in your career path.

I really do not know why people need to study accounting from bachelor all through master. I think accounting is quite simple. It only take one year to understand most of the stuff there. If I were you, I would certainly try finance major, just to give you more diversified choices in your career path.

Thank u! But its so late now. I did not prepare anything for Fin except HKU.  And I do not have any good math BG for Fin.  Its really tough for me. Does it matter?  really intense competition in MSF~

你很厉害的，其实我申请Umich希望不大的，我们班有一个同学比我先申请Umich，她的背景跟我差不多。。。。如果她录到了，我可能会被撞掉吧。。。。哎。我觉得现在强手太多，我们班上G760以上的就有六个呢，实力都差不多，全挤在一块申美国了。。。。。。。我有的时候还想着避开他们去香港来着。。。。。

Actually if it is the case, I would recommend you to take HKU Finance. It would be better for your career than most of the schools in US. ( I would say Duke below, like Rochester, UVA will not be better than HKU Fin). Your major plays a very important role in your life-long career. People will put a tag on you, saying you are an accountant. You will suffer a lot before people can change their mind. A joint education background of accounting and finance will be a lot more beneficial! especially in USA or HongKong, where people emphasis on your major!


I personally took MSA (Econ Bachelor) and I got the experience to tell this story. Even I am now in investment banking and CFA chartered, I still have a tag as accounting expert...


And also based on my view, 1 year MSA already gave me more than sufficient knowledge about accounting. Accounting is just like law, it cannot spread too far after you learn all the regulations. However, finance or Econ are like the universe that you can never learn everything in there and can go really deep.


Just my 2 cents for you. Please consult others as well.

Also to correct you and everyone, maths is not important either in Fin or Econ unless you go for Quantitative PhD or MFE. You will use little maths if you do investment banking, equity research, private equity, sales & trading. My maths was topped when I was 18, and I could not answer even a single question on the college entrance exam.
