OG13 48题两个提问，望各位NN不吝赐教！

答案选C、
有两点疑问：
1.关于although，though的用法
   搜了之前大家关于although引导从句时省略从句主语和谓语的帖子，知道有省略的这个用法。但是
   OG13 SC17题C选项GMAC的解释为although typically  introduce a subordinate clause,which has a       subject and a verb......


   所以GMAC到底是喜欢省略还是保留从句的主语呢？很纠结是不是啊？！


2. 关于-ving形式修饰名词，到底要不要紧跟修饰的名词呢？这里的covering more than four times the surface area of its closest rival in size肯定不可能修饰earth，肯定是修饰Caspian，所以可以放在这么远的地方吗？

"even though" MUST be followed by a clause.
"although", however, can be followed by an adjective or adjective phrase: james, although bigger than many of the other players, is one of the fastest men on the team.

我是觉得OG自己都矛盾啊，一会说从句主谓都要有，但是自己的例句里又省略 ，真不知道该怎么办
