Sunspots, vortices of gas associated with strong electromagnetic activity, are visible as dark spots on surface of the Sun but have never been sighted on the Sun's poles or equator.
(A) are visible as dark spots on the surface of the Sun but have never been sighted on
(B) are visible as dark spots that never have been sighted on the surface of the Sun

(C) appear on the surface of the Sun as darkspots although never sighted at
(D) appear as dark spots on the surface of the Sun, although never having been sighted a

(E) appear as dark spots on the Sun's surface, which have never been sighted on

A:on the surface of the sun 既可以直接修饰紧邻的名词dark spots,也可以修饰整个前半句(sunspots are visible as dark spots)

Sunspots are visible as dark spots on surface of the Sun
Sunspots are visible as dark spots on surface of the Sun (在太阳表面sunspots看起来是黑点)

I want to coach divers Like Greg Louganis
I want to coach divers WHO ARE Like Greg Louganis
I want to coach divers IN THE SAME WAY AS Greg Louganis

Sunspots are visible as dark spots on surface of the Sun (在太阳表面sunspots看起来是黑点)

问题是一个名词sunspots为何要和一个短语dark spots on surface of the sun比较?
