C,D 两个选项从意思上来看，个人认为是C要好一点。因为原句（A选项）表达的就是一种对比——unlike, 可是D中的even though 却有一种假设的感觉——即使。。。所以尽管C没有那么concise，我为了遵从句意而选择了C，不知道大家怎么看呢？（比如：even though 可以有另一种解读？） 新手初来乍到，不胜感激啊！

附上原题：

一般有being都不对。除非是sth is being made表示正在被做或者是Being ill, I cannot go to work.这种可以对，别的有being就是多余之类的。果断选D

遵從語意，並不是說A項說什麼都是對的。有的題目類型就是A項本身就是錯的（illogical or ambiguous），但是讀完選項以後你還是可以大致把握作者的意思，然後據此去選出logical and no ambiguous的choice。

讀完A項以後，大概可以把握meaning是：BM的同事認為genes是相對simple and static的，但是BM卻...

主要的是把握句子的邏輯關係，上面很明顯有一個contrasting的意思。然後應該選出含有這個意思的，而且語法正確的一項。

（C）being沒必要。
注意，being的出現不一定是錯的。但是這裡不需要being，直接“contrary to many of her colleagues convinced that...”就可了。

（C）even though表示儘管，even though的使用使得句子的邏輯清晰易懂。

至於lz所說的concision問題，
MANHATTAN說，concision只是到最後只剩下2-3個選項的時候用來做優選的，不能作為排除選項的絕對性依據。
一般在meaning和grammar正確的時候，才去考慮concision吧^^
