In the passage, "Examples of voluntary organizations are political groups and professioanl organizations. ...Children frequently participate in, a wider range of coercive organizations, most notably schools. "

44. Which of the following statements is best supported by the passage?
A. There are more people in voluntary organizations than in political groups.
B. Children participate in a greater number of coerive organizations than do adults.

The key is B. But I think A is also right. Since voluntary organizations include political groups and other groups. So people in political groups also belong to voluntary organizations. So A should be right. However there is no obvious comparison between children and adult for the number of coerive organizations.

Who can find my mistake? Thanks in advance.

说的没错,这样解释倒是符合ETS的出题规律.但真要转牛角尖的话,我上面的解释真的也没错,非常符合逻辑(A包含B => A > B).有兴趣,你再看看我上面的解释.

记得以前GRE的阅读老师说过做题最忌讳无限引申，而且我认为因为politics group包括在volunteer group中，所以两者根本就没有可比性。

那说说偶的看法，a wider range 首先，一个 wider 比较及，就说明是文中做了对比的，偶看不到全文，不知前后有没有提children但是答案中有提，可知children和adults是有对比的，而B中也出现了对比，所以是 best supported.

而A中说有more people in voluntary organizations ，而voluntary organizations include political groups ，那也就是有more people in political groups ，但答案中后却说 more people in voluntary organizations than in political groups是不合逻辑的。
