2. it was safe for them ....vs  households are confident


the former changes the meaning totally， it is not about a trend or strategy ...but about the detailed content of what truly the sign is（you should read the choice more carefully）


3. it is a idiom issue


not ..but is right


not ...yet is wrong （just in this scenario）

yes


yet is rarely used in GMAT to convey contrast or incompatibility，but the usage of yet is correct

第二个问题我还是不太懂：作为正确答案的D选项中，我分析之后应该是“夹心修饰”，即that they could safely handle new debt既做了 a sign 的修饰语（这里即同位语），又做了households were confident 的宾语从句，那么a sign 的内容应该就是they could safely handle new debt，这和it was safe for them to handle new debt有什么差别吗？
