真不好意思，我可能太轴了，我就是觉得populations不对，才放弃选项的，请哪位大虾指点一下吧，为什么这里要加s,而且别的选项里的population都没有s？

to monitor changes in the populations of more than 250 bird species

是species的populations,所以有－s，每一个specie都有一个population,譬如后面的songbird的population是180。

个人认为:       population changes of more than 250 bird species  既可以指这两百多种鸟总数量的变化,也可以是这两百多种鸟各自种群的数量变化,

而changes in populations of more than 250 bird species 就仅仅只能表示各自种群的数量变化,  没有了歧义

所以OG说:Changes in the populations of is clearer than population changes of.

大家认为是这样的吗?考证中...

我觉得不能把250species看成一个population，所以 不加s的句意以比较混乱  ，没法翻译...

加s后的解释还是很赞同的
