don't understand the part highlighted? if the phrase is wordy, then  choice B would be faulty too. is anyone could help me out? thx a lot!

Wordy是不是说用similar to不如用like简洁呢？ 不过E也太离谱了，首先比较对象不具有可比性，其次这种形式只有认为是inhabitants 了，但that无法实现正确的指代（inhabitants 是复数），然后又违反similar to的用法，

B没有wordy的问题，similar to很好，请搜索亲自similar to/like/as的用法和意思区别。
