In twenty years, there will be fewer cars in use than there are today
The last 20 years have witnessed great changes in transportation systems. Instead of taking a bus to work, modern people prefer to drive a private car and currently cars have already become an essential tool for almost every family in a city. Studies have shown that in Beijing cars including taxis have covered a weight of 80 percent of all the transport tools. However, what will the traffic conditions be like in next 20 years? Will the number of cars on a road get down? Well, to me the answer is yes.
To begin with, within 20 years, it is very likely that cars will gain no popular and the number will go down doubtlessly. With the high developed science and technology, our humans have the ability to invent more miraculous vehicles such as a helicopter which can carry hundreds of passengers or a super subway built under the current ones. Therefore, with these new tools, cars will go out of date and people will never need them at all. What’s more, a piece of latest news from USA has already shown that a new kind of vehicle capable of flying is under using test for market. So although expensive cars such as BMW and Ferrari are something like symbols of fortune at the moment, they have to be replaced by some more advanced ones.
In addition, for a healthy lifestyle, cars cannot escape the fate that they will be abandoned by human beings and thus their number will definitely suffer an acute decline. Since thousands of cars fill in a road every day, traffic jam and car accidents have been very common recently. Every time I listened to the traffic video in my father’s car, I can hear the report regarding a heavy traffic problem which brings so much inconvenience to other drivers and passengers. Moreover, since cars always give out more toxic gas than buses, a lot of pollution will be produced. Therefore, regarding these problems, our government has taken several measures to guarantee citizen’s a comfortable life. For example, laws and regulations have come out insisting that private cars be not allowed to come in Beijing on some special day (usually one day a week).
Admittedly, cars are still playing an important role in our daily life, however, this does not mean their number will increase. Conversely, with the decline of whole population in China and the preferred healthy lifestyle mentioned before, it is obvious that cars can never be as appealing as before. Therefore, even if new transportation methods have not been created, people in the future will buy fewer cars and they also will choose buses or subway not merely driving cars when going out.
From what I have substantiated above, we can safely arrive at the conclusion that in next 20 years, the number of cars will definitely get down.
