62 Leaders are created by the demands that are placed on them. 求拍!!写了一个半小时。。。感觉后面思路混乱
The speaker asserts that it is the demands of the era that creates leaders. I partly agree with this statement. Generally speaking, leaders are the results of a combination of internal qualities and external conditions. Obviously the demands are just the external factors.
Indeed, we cannot deny that the era they exist provides the leaders a stage to open up their talent and play essential roles to achieve great success. As we all known that the twenty-first century is a period of science and technology, which absolutely bring up a lot of leaders in the high-tech field, like the famous Mark Zuckerburg, who is the initiate of facebook, Steve Jobs, the ex-CEO of Apple, both of them lead the trend of technology and even change the way that people connect with others. But we can image that if they were born in the eighteenth century, when the computer was not been innovated, people at that time had no conception of the Internet and no demands for communicating more conveniently, they might become everyman. Therefore, the demands actually accomplish the leaders.
However, as it is said that opportunities are only for prepared person. If one has not excellent quality and ability, he or she would not become a leader even though the demands are placed on him or her. Looking back on history, we can easily find that every leader has their merits. For example, the sixteenth president of the United State, Abraham Lincoln, who was born in a poor family, had no opportunity to accept the education. But he taught himself to become an erudite and wise man and struggled to be one of the greatest presidents in the United State. He also contributed a lot to the liberation of the black and never bowed to evil. Besides, his integrity, kindness and strong profoundly affected the world. It is significantly that without those internal qualities, such as his endeavor and personal charisma, he could not become a great leader.
In addition, the statement mentioned above is likely to give people an unreality imagination that everyone could be a leader merely through the motivation of external demands. But the puppet governments in history remind us that a leader without the real ability would be eliminated rapidly. On the contrary, there is also a popular notion that if you consist working hard, you would be success sooner or later. Certainly, hard working is necessary for elevating one’s quality, but a capable person should have the good opportunity to reveal his or her talent to the world. Nearly twenty years ago, Steve Jobs was turned out from Apple for some internal contradictions, thus he did not accomplish any achievement until he came back to his own company, which indicates that the demands are absolutely indispensable to create a leader.
In conclusion, it is obvious that the speaker’s statement is incomprehensive. The external demands constitute the terraces where competent individuals can exercise their abilities to become leaders. However, the real useful instruments that can guide people go through the road to become a successful leader are one’s excellent mind and upstanding quality. |
