很老的题，但是我有一个想法。大家注意到了么，one-quarter中间是有一个连字符的，我们知道，连字符连起来的两个词，整体来讲可作为形容词，如 a seven-year girl，就是一个7岁的女孩，所以不应该再加of。因此可以排除掉C,E。至于there are，我觉得后面省略的应该是drive-ins，所以比较对象又有不同，一个是实体，一个是amount数字，所以是不行的。

我同意D。请各位讨论。

2 fewer than 后面不能接一个数量，而是要可数的指示事物的词语
