tpo20. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Successful people try new things and take risks rather than only doing what they know how to do well. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
I agree that successful people try new things and take risks rather than only doing what they know how to do well.
let’s take Edison as an example, he is one of the most famous inventors in the world. He invented a lot of new things during his life, if he just followed the forerunners and didn’t try new things, there will be much fewer useful inventions today.
When he thought about inventing something that can light the room, he tried thousands of times with different materials, he found some materials could light the room, but he didn’t stop and do what he know how to do well, instead, he tried more new materials, and at last found the most suitable one. If he just didn’t take the risk of failing, I think bulbs today can’t produce such bright light in our daily life.
And another example to illustrate my opinion is George Jobs, he took the risk of being fired and losing all his money to specify his Apple products, if he just followed Microsoft, and did some adaptions to the products like Microsoft company, it will be a huge loss of today’ high-tech industry, and with the fact that Apple products like Iphone, Ipod and other products are popular all over the world, George did his best to be a successful person and got a lot profits.
In conclusion, successful people are dare to try new things and take risks, they may face great challenges during the process of the experience, but if all people follow the old things and just make adaptions, there will be no creation and our world will not develop as today.
