If a goal is worthy, then any means to attain it are justifiable.


A goal is the inner motivation of one person’s practice. As we can see, those who have positioned goals clearly are more likely to succeed in their career. There once was a research done by Harvard on a group of children whose result shows that there is a certain part of children who clearly know what they want and have long-term goals for themselves. By later tracing about their growth, the result shows that the certain part of children turns out to be more successful than the remaining and some of them even become the elite of a certain field. However significant a goal is as emphasized above, it does not necessarily mean that any means to attain it are considered justifiable.

As long as we are human-beings, we are living under some certain principles. This is definitely different from wild animals that can run freely on the grass grounds. Among those principles, the ethical view has never been kicked out of the list. The world is watching over us as we are taking actions hence causes our feelings of guilt once doing things wrong. On the pursuit of our goals, we are in the exposure of all our audiences. Rumor can easily be spread under the information world. In addition to that, we are certain to receive some condemnation if our way of attaining goals is not out of the moral standard. Taking an athlete for instance, he has a strong will to win and he chooses doping to help gaining the champion. That is absolutely not allowed and those who are really talented as well as diligent are preferred.
Another vital limitation on our goal attaining is the law whose power can never be doubted. Those who take illicit measures to reach their goals are destined to be punished. Though some of them may be lucky to have escaped to be punished in a short run, the guilt they have made leave them no longer feeling free living in the world. Laws will never show sympathy of a man who are in want of money and take robbing as a way to achieve his goal.
Consider all the factors mentioned above, we can safely draw the conclusion that there will be certain limitations in attainting our goals, however worthy it is. Taking account the very importance of a goal into account, the most attainable way in pursuit of our goals are required. Weigh the pros and cons before taking real actions.
