我觉得是选B，你看A选项：

先不说thereby boosting consumption的修饰错误

这里，我觉得，一般句子里面如果出现表动作的词(比如这里的increasing and lowering)，就肯定要有主语，这个主语要么在句子中，要么可以很明显的看出来不在句子中，而这里，感觉好像it做了increase和lower这两个动作的主语，it指代improved efficiency in converting harvest tress into wood products，这样不符合逻辑。

我觉得,increase和lower, 这两个词，找动作发出者，好像怎么都不太对，所以B中用了because of~~~
