我的理解是：航空制造业对于飞机来说太新了，为了危险的实验设计。

关于同位语，你的意思是，不一定是核心词修饰，也可以说就近修饰前面出现的名词对吧。

关于35题，OG13确实选了E，OG解释是
A（我当初错选了A）too wordy,不如earned 修饰speed ecords来得直接。
B earning主语是the pilot,而不是records, 但是earning离records太近了，making this sectence hard to process(原话)；so new that many x were y,比so new for many x to be y更清晰
C where错
D 应该用when来引导；such多余
E对，earned就近修饰records;清晰的使用了so new that many x were y

wordy。。。。 A选项 楼上有人问A选项怎么错了的 还不清楚GMAT语法不是选对的是选 最好的吗。话说GWD里面有些题的选项多多少少都有问题 甚至有答案选 there be 这种所谓的必错题，原因就是其他题错得很离谱，而最佳答案虽然也不是完美的但是在5个选项里面是最没问题，“Best”的

答案是B，可我觉得 a pioneer journalist是作为同位语，而B选项中，岂不是成了exploits的同位语？所以不太理解，求指导。另外求翻译。谢谢。

同有疑问，小有补充：
OG13 47题 In 1713, Alexander Pope began his translation of the Iliad, a work that took him seven years...此处a work作为同位语修饰his translation。
          19题 The exploits of Nellie Bly, a pioneer journalist, included... a pioneer journalist作为同位语修饰紧邻的名词 Nellie Bly。
按照manhattan语法charpter6 modifier 的讲解，touch rule:a noun and its modifier shoule touch each other.
所以，我认为，19题中的更有道理，和a pioneer journalist最近的名词是 Nellie Bly
                   而47题的疑问，还请NN帮助解答一下！大谢~

虽然看晚了，希望帮的上忙。
我觉得GMAT是考逻辑的东西，没有比较死的rule。看47，你觉得Iliad可能是work嘛？现在要修饰的就是这个translation，用whic修饰？不可能，会歧义吧？用-ing分词还是-ed分词修饰？还是不可能吧？看来看去只有这里的同位语修饰比较合理点。所以逻辑上是正确的。

E完全改变了句意，把a pioneer journalist和Nellie Bly说成是两种人，前者exploit后者。

同样句子意思改变的是C，句子意思变得莫名其妙。。。都无从下手翻译了。。。

另外，manhattan提到，修饰语通常不能修饰所有格名词。SO，见到所有格基本可以排除。
