答案是B，我选的A，OG解释为：

虽说答案可以解释为什么选B，可是这题做的时候的思路应该如何弄呢？这个考点到底是什么？抽象名词(harvest)代具体名词（41millions）？其中，这题OG还说了：It helps if you think of 41 million tons ofrice as the collective equivalent of the 1979 harvest.

因为从语义来看是比较两个harvest, 而不是无意义地比较tons. Choice A中的those恰恰就变成了指代tons, 不如B好:-)

tons也不是无意义啊，就是比较harvest的数量，而量化的单位不就是tons吗？

其实这个题的知识点很简单，就是比较的一致性，前面说rice的产量，后面当然也要是产量，而harvest本身就可以作名词：收成，产量。A选项显得太过啰嗦了，OG13我还没做，也没看解析，但我觉的我的思路应该是正确的

这道题想要表达的还是比较不同年份的rice production，如果选A，those貌似指代的是41 million tons，这样就不合理了；或者也可以说，这样会造成模糊，指代不明确（tons/ 41 million tons），语意不清晰。OG的正确选项都强调句子意思的明确清晰，因此不选A。

我觉得如果是tons的话那前面就不应该用less than 而应该是fewer than了吧，所以A还是不对
