关于状语从句的省略，有一点不怎么明白！求指导！

这里E项的when应该似乎状语从句的省略吧？
prep08笔记中说，
从句的谓语必需是be（没要求主句谓语也必需是be！换句话说状从的省略可以看成是省略了一个be），且从句主语和谓语要
么同省，要么同留。
conflicts result when analysts own the stocks they write about or when paid for their work by a firm’s investment banking division.这句中or后面的when省略了they are这里conflicts result中并没有出现be，when从句中有they are是可以同时省略的，是这个意思吗？之前的比较句的省略，并列句的省略感觉都是be do have相同时省略动词或者助动词的情况，这里不需要主从句都有be是吧？
