这是ETS最喜欢的陷阱之一,我把它叫作夹心饼干,就是一个分词出现在主谓之间,这种分词既可以作定语修饰主语又可以作状语修饰后面的谓语动词,典型的"斜视分词"(OG某题的解释,在靠后的部分,题号不记得了). 改进方案就是把夹心部分提到前面去明确作状语修饰谓语动词,(少数情况如果作定语的话改用定语从句或移到逗号前面),如B所示. GWD里有不少这样的夹心饼干题,你以后做到注意一下,很快就摸到规律了.

The term refers to an adverbial or an adjective modification between two objects, both of which could be modified by the adverbial or adjective phase or clause. But in this case, there is only one object could ever be modified by the participle: the new study.

The most serious flaw of E, in my point of view, is that there should be a THAT after the "has estimated".
