HELP HELP---should I retake GMAT?

Hello my fellow CDer,

I recently took my gmat and got a 700 on it.  I am thinking of retaking the test.  However, that was already my second try.  Should i take it for the third time since i am applying to the top 7 mba programs only?  But wouldn't it look bad on the application that I took GMAT three times?  lease advise.  THANK U THANK U.

是的,其实gmat分数在申请时就是我们自己和自己的竞争。加州学校的华裔录取平均分数线已经超过白人的平均分数线了（这周北美周报上的一篇文章中的信息，但是我不能肯定它的准确性）。身边的人告诉我，加州top20里分数低于720都不好意思和人打招呼。看看cd每个月出多少个730+的牛牛，就知道这个趋势是大势，唉。

按照以上理解，mm的理解是对的。但我个人感觉有绿卡和没绿卡还是不一样的。

Yes....both of Math and Verbal got >80%.  Sigh....but HBS' and Stanford's average for class 2006 was 707 (or some number slightly above 700).  In other words, alot of people (beside us) are getting high GMAT scores.  Do adcoms really care if you take GMAT too many times?  (>twice)?

It is like the analytical part of GMAT: it may be because students with higher GMAT scores feel more confident in themselves and tend to apply for top schools. if all the highest scores rush to HBS, their GMAT average may well be above 700 anyway.

Some schools say they will only use your highest GMAT score as reference(CMU says so.) but some may only look at your most recent score, and still others will look at all your scores and the trend--bet you improve your score each time, otherwise...retaking isn't any good in this case, right?
