我对A还是有不理解的地方，或者说对as/as if的用法不理解

Quasars are so distant that their light has taken billions of years to reach the Earth; consequently, we see them as they were during the formation of the universe.

如果As当连词讲，while的意思，那么两个动作应该是同时的，而 see 和 be during formation物理上并不是同时的，所以我感觉更应该用as if, 即如果用as if 代替as，表虚拟，对吗？

Quasars are so distant that their light has taken billions of years to reach the Earth; consequently, we see them as if they were during the formation of the universe.

另一种解释是，as表示的不是时间上的同时，而是事件上的同时，即用第二个事件be in formation来衡量第一个事件see,所以直接用as,但我感觉好像不对啊？

至少我觉得用as if 替换表虚拟是可以说通的。

这里的as应该做“与...一样”解，连词。翻译是：我们看到他们如同他们在宇宙形成期时的那样。

这不是一种假设或未曾发生的状态，所以不用虚拟语气。

as的这种用法参照：This is the same as it was before. 这个与以前一样。
