Hold status, 是waiting list了么?

刚刚发邮件问小蜜申请情况 回复如下:
Your application has been reviewed by the selection committee and placed in a "hold" status.  The reason for this is there were a large number of qualified applicants and the committee will need to review all of these files prior to making any final decisions.  I would anticipate you receiving notification in May about their decision.  Thank you for your patience through out this process.

申的是guelph,这个意思是waiting list了么? 因为我知道有人已经录取了,肯定不会是等所有人review完才发录取

请教牛人,这个情况是不是希望很小了? 有什么办法补救么? 套磁?
