V-ing形式可以修饰宾语？？？

看过baby大神总结的帖子， Ving形式 在句首和句中都直接能修饰主语， 在句末可以表伴随或者表结果修饰整句句子。 也发现Ving可以修饰从句的主语，但是没见过能单独修饰宾语啊。。 看蓝OG113

答案为B。  Slowing既没有修饰analysts， 也没有修饰 Sluggish retail sales， 也不是主句的结果或者伴随， 而是修饰的on后面的unexciting merchandise和 weather，请问这是什么用法。

在主系表结构中， ving 只能修饰主语的主句，这句话 which was....从句可以当做主系表结构来看，然后slowing就是修饰的which, 而which 又是指代的weather, 所以slowing 就修饰的是 weather.

注意是preceding clause，而不是main clause
这里，preceding clause是：

In this sentence, the use of "comma+v-ing" is appropriate, because the "comma+v-ing" conveys a causal relationship:
The sale was slowed because the weather was colder and wetter. In other words, the weather slowed the sales.

把以前某些国内语法老师所谓的v-ing修饰主句逻辑主语的错误概念修正了。
