偶觉得 little polar ice 也有问题，是little 修饰polar然后一起修饰ice呢还是little修饰polar ice？容易引起歧异；

were it to do so,的意思明白了， it 指代 “the polar ice”。但是 the polar ice 在前面的半句中只在that后面出现，不是句子的主语，为什么it（作为后半句的主语）可以指代它呢？

Antarctica ..., yet the temperatures are so cold and the ice cap is so reflective that little of the polar ice melts during the summer; were it to do so ...

这个代词的指代，如果前面有很多（单复数吻合的）名词的话，语法上应该指代哪一个啊？最近的？主语？还是根据意思选最合适的？（最后这个好像不对吧。）

A不是正確答案是因為otherwise是副詞，在兩個完整句子之間缺少連接詞
