这道题可以用排除法搞定，而且好像我有一种感觉就是这里的就是不要加did的，因为that flourished at the same time as the civilizations是修饰成分，如果句子换成
civilization flourished at the same time as  did the civilizations of ...那么这个did就不能省了。

我想不要从省略入手,因为不好掌握，可以从动词入手,可排除其他选项。

似乎没有更好的办法，更糟的办法倒是挺多

从动词入手，肯定没有错，可以解决99.99%的问题，如果掌握纯熟。不过我觉得动词实在是太难掌握了。随便一本语法书，80%在讲动词，剩下10%与动词相关；语态、时态搅在一起，好像不是很容易把握。

就这个题而言，我是从代词入手。抛弃CDE。如果不懂得省略，那抛弃A选B几乎是必然结果。

当然，如果准确精确理解动词时态，也能做出正确选择。

关键是看是否有歧义。

我觉得同样也可以省略， 因为没有任何歧义的可能。

我觉得一般这种情况， 要么前面有两个名词（可以用介词相连），用as the same time连接时因为难以分清比较的是前面的名词还是后面的名词时，是必须补出动词的。
