i can only speak of what i know. i know about a dozen or so chinese in SIPA. SIPA overall isn't very finance-focused. Among Chinese there are some people who want to do banking, but it is very hard: associate recruiting is only for MBAs, and many students there don't have work experience. so very few people go into banking ( i don't know of anyone who successfully made it to bulge bracket banking). The worst part is there is no bank specifically recruiting at SIPA, so those who go into banking do it through painstaking networking and most of them start from analyst positions.

There are however some very solid people in SIPA, i know a guy who went to a hedge fund after SIPA. but the guy was a former banker with a top IVY undergrad degree.

my opinion is, SIPA is not designed for banking jobs, and if your goal is banking, Cornell should be a no-brainer.

cornel mba！mpa和mba的是完全不同的，lz应该不是abc吧，那根据mpa的职业特性是几乎没法留住的

这两个offer我都很喜欢，我以后想做金融（banking, IM), 希望版上的牛牛能帮我分析分析

Columbia的offer是14个月的，它家SIPA学院的PEPM（Program in Economic Policy Management），官方估计学费+生活费11万美金（14个月），官方扬言就业方向为大型国际组织的经济金融类方向。根据和Insider聊天，因为其地处NYC，所以有一半左右毕业后都直接进入金融领域比如IB（可能是中台）。对我来说，
利：1）NYC位置好，适合金融职业发展 2）据说SIPA大名鼎鼎，是很多基金经理进修的后花园，于是便于networking. 3）我的SO在NYC
弊：1）只有14个月，我不确定我能找到合适的工作 2）MPA可能在我未来的职业发展中的含金量不如MBA

Cornell的MBA，版上大家都很清楚了，对我来说
利：1）Cornell金融还是很强大的，MBA也不错 2）MBA是我这半年的主要目标。。。
弊：1）location，去纽约挺辛苦的 2）两年和一年比起来经济负担肯定是重的，不过我知道这个得看Long term。。。

我现在还在等两个学校的最后结果（都是月底），但是Cornell3月20号要付钱了，anyway我要在这两个C中选一个的，所以麻烦大家给出出主意~~谢谢

我也被pepm录取了，但是我另一个学校不是cornell MBA ，而是Babson MBA，不知道怎么选择。
