hope for+n.我是知道的。可是hope for a recovery (finally under way)...不可以么？

A的错误首先是主谓不一致，这是一个很大的错误，完全可以排掉了它了。至于It is superfluous and pointless to say that people hope both that  there is  a recovery and that such a recovery is underway .我感觉就是there be这个句型的问题。首先它是表示一种客观存在（manhattan上有讲），hope是一种希望，类似于虚拟了，不会虚拟出一种客观存在来的。此次，你刚才是问OG上说得是啥意思吧？我觉着这句话如果单挑出来看就是：there  is a recovery ,同时又在强调是一种under way的recovery。所以Og才那么解释。。。

至于E，我想说的是，hope 后面加这种长成分，最好用that 从句。介宾这个结构本身就是存在歧义，因为你不知道那个finally under way是说的hope 还是recovery

GMAC认为E的表达 虽然从某种程度上将合乎语法，但是它还是觉得 awkward and does not make sense.

意思上来看，后面有说不会last，说明raise hope不是短暂的动作而是已经发生并持续到现在的，但是至于能持续多久，经济学家觉得不会很久.同时，hope for a recovery finally under way的意思是激起了人们对于复苏终于在快要来了的希望，从中文的逻辑和意思上就很不合理...
