解释中说although后面必须要有主谓，但是我不太明白A选项中but后面省略了主语，那么C选项能不能被视为省略了主谓呢？之前看到一种解释说，although省略要满足两个条件：1. 逻辑主语是主句主语；2. 从句谓语动词必须是be。那么这道题不是刚好符合，可以省略么？

我知道这道题从逻辑上来说although和but意思不一样，不可以用although替换成but，我只是想问问but和although的主谓省略问题

解答：although省略确实要符合那两个条件，但是此处although需要接 have been所以不符合省略条件

解答：but/and主语与主句主语一致时可省略主语，不管and/but前面有没有逗号；连接两个主谓不同的完整句子时一定要用逗号

although及其它状语从句的省略？
解答：首先although引导的从句如果要省略主谓，要遵守状语从句的省略条件：
（1）从句主语与主句主语一样
（2）从句的谓语动词为be（am, is, are, were）
符合以上两点，状语从句引导内容可以是：
引导词+ving（现在分词）/+ved（过去分词）/adj.
因为状语从句伴随主句，所以如果表达主动性，则用ving；表达被动性，用ved；表达一种状态，用adj.

通过although引导的状语从句在句中的位置考虑是否省略主谓（语法结构满足省略条件，逻辑上不一定可以省略）
一般认为，although省略的情况出现在句首，或者主句be动词前。
也就是说，有一个主句是【主谓宾】的话，although省略：
要么置于【主谓宾】主句之前；要么置于【主、谓之间】，用插入语的形式
这样做是因为，只有在这两种情况下，我们才能很清晰地看出although的省略，省略的是【主句主语】。

OG 的解释是：
the simple past
supplemented parallels the simple past were.
不明白是although让它parallel呢，还是逻辑关系parallel呢？

LZ所说的although省略的规则是对的，如果单纯看although在C的用法，忽略C乱七八糟的错误的话。OG上的解释应该是这里的although完整的应该是although (sunspots have been) sighted。。。这种省略是体现不出原句子里的时态的。i.e. 原句里的谓语不是be，违背了那个省略规则。

噢~明白了，我忽略了现在完成时态~
那么还有一个问题，就是but的省略规则是什么呢？A选项中的but只省略了主语，那么but在哪些情况下是不是也可以省略谓语呢，还是说but之后根本就不需要一套完整的主谓结构？

在GMAT中 and和butl连接两个分句，通常是要用逗号隔开的，分句中的主谓要补齐。
如果你不用逗号，BUT/AND连接的就必须是语法平行的结构，通常为名词或分句，此时可共用一个谓语，例子如下：
He said that he was busy today but that he would be free tomorrow.
还有But和although的省略是不一样的，but属于并列连词而although属于引导状语从句中的连词（这个说法可能不太专业）
although后的省略，+现在分词、过去分词、agj（是省略了主语和be的结果）
关于C的错误我比较认同的一种说法是，although不在句首时，最好加上逗号

不过对于最后一句话，为什么although不在句首的时候要加上逗号呢，这个是新东方总结的技巧，还是确实有这么个语法规则？

不好意思噢，这次我没太看明白。。。我觉得例句中的although growing slowly应该是个插入语，确实应该修饰economy，这里面的although后面没有完整的主谓结构，但是你说会引起歧义？所以如果说存在歧义，这里是不是最好应该就没有逗号，刚好although修饰economy，但同时although后面为省略形式。不过我也不太理解，我觉得这里although当插入语，应该没有歧义吧？好纠结。。。可以把这道题的这两个选项的解释发一下嘛？

谢谢，我先开始以为是be被省略了，后来才知道have been是不能被省略的。。。
请问你知道although前面需要加逗号这么个语法点么？我以前不知道，是刚听楼上的浅浅说的，但是我不太理解
